He cannot cry out for help to anyone.

Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.

He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own. The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises.
Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm
The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!

Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold. Their small Banana Split Blizzard contains 460 calories, 14 grams of fat, and 9 grams of saturated fat. Compared to Cold Stone's treat, these two aren't even in the same ballpark. "At the Cocoa Banana Cabana" packs 660 calories, 29.5 grams of fat (46% of your daily value) and over 100% of your daily limit for saturated fat (20 grams). This treat will have you going bananas...but not in a good way. Remember, saturated fat should make up no more than 10% of your calories, so if you eat less than 2,000 calories daily, you'll want even less than the standard 20-25 grams. A few other DQ treats that are a little more diet-friendly include novelties such as the DQ Sandwich (200 calories), Starkiss (80 calories), a small chocolate cone (240 calories), and DQ's Fudge Bar (50 calories).

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_zzG4l5j9BS4/SnTjZ_hNHAI/AAAAAAAAALo/9SqnqSIfnl0/s200/pizza.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5365163091792043010" />
It's Sunday...Domino's Pepperoni Feast (Crunchy Thin Crust, 1 slice from 12-inch)-VS-
Domino's Deluxe Feast (Crunchy Thin Crust, 1 slice from 12-inch)
Who doesn't love pizza? Each person in America eats an average of 46 slices (23 pounds) of pizza per year! (Source: Packaged Facts, New York.) Our most popular topping is pepperoni, of course--an ingredient in both of these options from Domino's. Thin crust pizzas usually contain fewer calories and fat grams than hand-tossed or deep dish pizzas, as is the case here. Their Pepperoni Feast isn't called a "feast" for nothing, with all its extra layers of pepperoni and cheese. While the Deluxe Feast includes pepperoni as well, it's also topped with Italian sausage, green peppers, mushrooms and onions. So which is lower in calories and fat--extra pepperoni, or pepperoni with sausage?ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-18878596980477720782009-07-31T23:04:00.002-04:002009-07-31T23:11:20.534-04:00Popcorn Shrimp and Cocktail Sauce wins! Next question - You'll go bananas for these frozen treatsIf you chose the Popcorn Shrimp and Cocktail Sauce, then you found the real treasure! This snack combo contains a modest 295 calories, 16 grams of fat (still 25% of your daily value) and 4 grams of saturated fat. When it comes to food that's fried and fast, this isn't so bad. The Parmesan Fish Bites are higher calories and fat: 360 calories, 24 grams of fat (37% of your daily value) and 5 grams of saturated fat. Shiver me timbers! You can make any of Long John Silver's meals healthier by skimping on the tartar sauce--or skipping it altogether. This high-calorie condiment contains 100 calories and 9 fat grams per serving. Cocktail sauce is always a better choice, with zero grams of fat and only 25 calories.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 160px; height: 120px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_zzG4l5j9BS4/SnOx6H_PE9I/AAAAAAAAALg/p-AGAzJoXao/s200/peter-johansky-banana-split.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364827193263199186" />
Cold Stone Creamery "At the Cocoa Banana Cabana" (Like It size) - VS -
Dairy Queen Banana Split Blizzard (small)
If you like bananas and ice cream, then you'll love both of these frozen concoctions. Dairy Queen's famous blizzards combine that original DQ soft serve with almost any treat you can imagine. In this case, you'll get all the ingredients of a classic banana split, blended up with vanilla soft serve. A similar treat from Cold Stone is the "At the Cocoa Banana Cabana" which includes banana ice cream, mixed with yellow cake, fresh banana, fudge and whipped cream. Both of these sizes represent the smallest sizes available at each location. Make your pick for the banana treat with 200 fewer calories and less fat.ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-85503318944387198822009-07-30T20:47:00.004-04:002009-07-30T21:07:46.607-04:00The answer! Next...Which seafood snack won't add to your pirate booty?Due to readers response we're now posting the next question with the previous answer!
And the answer is....
Even with very similar ingredients, these two omelets vary greatly in nutrition. Denny's Veggie Cheese Omelet is lower in calories (494), and fat (39 grams, which is still high) and saturated fat (12 grams). This is likely because it contains less cheese than Bob Evans Three Cheese Omelet, which adds three kinds of fatty cheese without the nutritional boost of any veggies. Bob Evans' omelet contains 771 calories and 67 grams of fat, and twice the saturated fat (24 grams). Eggs can be healthy, but how they are prepared, the number that you eat, and the fixings that are added will all affect their make-up in the end. Both of these restaurants will make your eggs or omelets with Egg Beaters upon request. Denny's Veggie Cheese Omelet with Egg Beaters contains more than 100 fewer calories (346), and much less fat (22 grams, 7 grams saturated). Even Bob Evans Three Cheese Omelet can be improved to 536 calories, 45 grams of fat, and 19 grams of saturated fat when Egg Beaters are used. Also ask about using egg whites whenever possible.

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 134px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_zzG4l5j9BS4/SnJDXuF1nxI/AAAAAAAAALY/S180iAN5lEc/s200/BE-00032-MP.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364424180940250898" />

Which seafood snack won't add to your pirate booty?
Long John Silver's Parmesan Fish Bites Snack Box (with Tartar Sauce) - VS -
Long John Silver's Popcorn Shrimp Snack Box (with Cocktail Sauce)
Arrr, matey! When you are craving a seafood treasure, Long John Silver's is the place to be. Here are two "Snack Box" choices, weighing in at four ounces each. Although deep-fried, you can steer your ship with the one hand while popping these bite-size beauties with the other. You can avoid walking the plank by picking the lower-fat winner. But we know now that eggs can be part of a healthy diet and some research even shows that it's safe to consume up to one egg daily if the rest of your diet is low in cholesterol. Here are two simple omelets from two similar restaurants. Bob Evans Three Cheese Omelet contains three eggs and a combination of American, cheddar, and Monterey Jack cheeses. Denny's Veggie-Cheese Omelet also contains three eggs. This omelet is also filled with onions, peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes. Finding my purpose if you will, so take a minute, enjoy this and know I should return full force next week.
A Dog's Purpose? (from a 6-year-old).

Being a veterinarian, I had been called to examine a ten-year-old IrishWolfhound named Belker. The dog's owners, Ron, his wife Lisa, and their little boy Shane, were all very attached to Belker, and they were hoping for a miracle.

I examined Belker and found he was dying of cancer. I told the family we couldn't do anything for Belker, and offered to perform the euthanasia procedure for the old dog in their home.

As we made arrangements, Ron and Lisa told me they thought it would be good for six-year-old Shane to observe the procedure. They felt as though Shane might learn something from the experience.

The next day, I felt the familiar catch in my throat as Belker 's family surrounded him. Shane seemed so calm, petting the old dog for the last time, that I wondered if he understood what was going on.Within a few minutes, Belker slipped peacefully away.

The little boy seemed to accept Belker's transition without any difficulty or confusion. We sat together for a while after Belker's Death, wondering aloud about the sad fact that animal lives are shorter than human lives.
Shane, who had been listening quietly, piped up, ''I know why.''
Startled, we all turned to him. What came out of his mouth next stunned me. I'd never heard a more comforting explanation. It has changed the way I try and live.

He said,
''People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life -- like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?''
The Six-year-old continued, ''Well, dogs already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long.''
Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly.

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.

Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joyride.

Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure Ecstasy.

Take naps.

Stretch before rising.

Run, romp, and play daily.

Thrive on attention and let people touch you.

Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.

On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.

On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.

When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.

Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.

Be loyal.

Never pretend to be something you're not.

If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.

When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by, and nuzzle them gently.

ENJOY EVERY MOMENT OF EVERY DAY!ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-69201980946822508052009-07-06T09:11:00.002-04:002009-07-06T09:23:58.300-04:00Healthy Good Tasting FoodBe honest, when you hear about healthy food you think of carrot sticks and celery don’t you? Why does the concept of weight loss conjure up images of unappetizing foods?
1. Yams and sweet potatoes.
The glycemic index measures the values of various foods based on how quickly they break down and are absorbed into the bloodstream. The slower the digestion, the lower the score, the better the food is for regulating blood sugars, insulin, and overall metabolism—all of which affect fat deposition.

2. Oranges, apples and grapefruit.
These particular fruits contain high levels of the soluble fiber pectin. Fiber slows digestion, helps eliminate toxins stored in body fat, and gives you a feeling of fullness.

3. Killer sandwiches.
To lose 40 pounds in 21 weeks, eat plenty of hearty sandwiches stacked with vegetables, such as tomato, cucumber, sprouts, lettuce and onion, as well as deli meats – but always oven-roasted turkey over anything vacuum-packed. For your bread choice, its suggested anything brown with lots of seeds and heavy grains you can actually see, because less-milled ingredients contain much more fiber.

4. Cereal
They can be a little hard to find, but low-sugar cereals packed with protein and fiber are hitting the market. The Kashi brand is one of the best.

5. Salad
“If you eat a salad, make it valuable,” “Get field or Asian greens and add a yogurt dressing. Plus, you need a ton of vegetables and some good lean protein, like grilled salmon.”

6. Quiche
Made with egg whites and just a couple of yolks are protein sources. Toss in a little low-fat cheese, broccoli and spinach.

7. Yogurt
And other dairy goods that come in great-tasting, low-fat products.

8. Almonds
Nuts are loaded with monounsaturated fats—the good fats that are rich in omega-3 fatty acids, known to lower cholesterol. Fats are as necessary to a healthy diet as protein and carbohydrates.

9. Peanut butter
Likewise, nut butters are a great source of those healthy, monounsaturated fats. Enjoy your favorite, but in moderation.

10. Hummus.
AKA pureed chickpeas, garlic, and a little lemon juice and they are great with whole-wheat pita bread or organic corn chips.

11. Salsa.
Another favorite for dipping, and a homemade batch is easy to make. Fresh salsa is simply tomato, onion, jalapeno and cilantro. Now, tell me, what could possibly be unhealthy about that!ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-74627382998155953102009-07-01T07:44:00.000-04:002009-07-01T07:45:36.349-04:00Peace Cereal wins...<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 160px; height: 160px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_zzG4l5j9BS4/SktMSIbU12I/AAAAAAAAALI/fY6K1NlJZks/s200/n1346-1i_9-25x9-25_b~Cornflakes-and-Sugar-Posters.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353456456443418466" />
Peace Cereal may not be a household name the way that General Mills is, but it should be. Not only do they donate 10% of their profits to peace charities, but their organic cereals contain healthy, whole ingredients, such as "organic milled whole wheat," which is the first ingredient on this box's list. Thanks to these whole grains, this cereal will satisfy you with 10 grams of fiber and 8 grams of protein! You'll find this box in the natural foods section of your supermarket. Don't let General Mills' "whole grains" symbols fool you. That doesn't mean less processed; it just means that all parts of a grain are there somewhere but not necessarily in one piece. Their first ingredient is "corn meal," and this fruit & nut concoction doesn't pack the healthy fiber and protein that you'd expect by looking at the box--3 grams fiber and 4 grams protein. Don't make your cereal choices by looking at the front of the box alone, because this can be misleading. Always read the nutrition facts and the ingredients, which are listed in descending order.ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-74980235942240758822009-06-30T07:18:00.002-04:002009-06-30T07:23:55.258-04:00Which cereal packs more fiber and protein?<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 160px; height: 160px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_zzG4l5j9BS4/Skn1cglIrVI/AAAAAAAAAK4/CR-kW9NzIhw/s200/n1346-1i_9-25x9-25_b~Cornflakes-and-Sugar-Posters.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5353079502237379922" />
You know that a healthy breakfast is an important part of your day, especially if you're watching your weight. Well not just any breakfast will do--you want lots of fiber and lean protein to keep you full through morning and meet your nutritional needs. Here are two healthy sounding cereals. Peace Cereal's Essential 10 is described as a "nutritious cinnamon-toasted cereal" and it is also stamped with the USDA Organic symbol. A similar concept by General Mills is their Basic 4 cereal, which contains a "blend of sweet & tangy fruits, crunchy nuts and a wholesome variety of whole grains." Their box is stamped with General Mills' symbol for "Whole Grains." These two cereals are equal in calories (210) and fat grams (3) per 1-cup serving, but only one contains more than three times the fiber and twice the protein of the other. Can you pick the winner?ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-81419722510520733222009-06-27T04:49:00.002-04:002009-06-27T04:56:15.041-04:00Rooting for Comfort Food<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 133px; height: 200px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_zzG4l5j9BS4/SkXemtOvMvI/AAAAAAAAAKw/LyYYzRdj7KU/s200/S221.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5351928488757506802" />
Next time you're tempted to reach for the mac n' cheese, turn to autumn's bounty for a healthy (but comforting) alternative. Starchy root veggies are rich in flavor, vitamins and fiber, making for nutritious and filling cold-weather eats.

Here's how we'll be using them to warm our bellies:

Mash 'em: The soft texture of mashed root veggies can be both delicious and comforting. Branch out from potatoes and try mashing mineral-packed parsnips with milk, nutmeg, salt, pepper and walnut oil. Or try this simple recipe for mashed rutabaga.

Cook 'em: We always feel better with a steaming bowl of chicken soup, but we like it even more with low-cal daikon (it's also thought to purify blood). For a hearty one-dish meal, dig into a bowl of filling sweet potato and apple stew.

Bake 'em: Longing for a sweet baked treat without the guilt? Pop these mini sweet potato pies into the oven or try whipping up a batch of delicious carrot spice muffins with agave.ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-90283488512017938722009-06-22T08:37:00.003-04:002009-06-22T08:43:25.433-04:00Never Forget OUR men<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_zzG4l5j9BS4/Sj98YYq9rEI/AAAAAAAAAKo/EMau71CnYEw/s200/545513.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5350131640720796738" />
Yesterday was Father's Day and many men as well as woman were still fighting for this country far away from their families;
Something cool that Xerox is doing

If you go to this web site, http://www.LetsSayThanks.com you can pick out a thank you card and Xerox will print it and it will be sent to a soldier that is currently serving in Iraq . Those same calories could mean a glass of wine or dessert. Choose wisely! Make the most of your meals when you eat out. Decide what is important to you. If you love bread, have the bread before your dinner. Choose one piece and eat it slowly. Or if there is a dessert on the menu you are craving, choose a dessert and split it with your fellow diners. This way, you will leave your dinner satisfied and guiltless.ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-825623081332788572009-06-12T07:43:00.001-04:002009-06-12T07:46:30.073-04:00Spring Allergy Tips<img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 144px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_zzG4l5j9BS4/SjJAC3ZeL1I/AAAAAAAAAKY/Eb23gRvCuPY/s200/7463.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5346406125616901970" />

The majority of spring allergies are related to pollen—powdery grains that are carried by wind or insects and are necessary for plant reproduction. Flowering plants and trees, such as the oak, elm, birch, ash, hickory, poplar, maple and walnut, start pollinating between January and April, depending on their location. When pollen is in the air, it can land in the eyes, nose, lungs, or skin of a sensitive person and cause itchy, watery eyes, runny nose, coughing, and other breathing difficulties.

Pollen allergy symptoms are often minimal on rainy, windless days because pollen does not move much during those conditions. Hot, dry, and windy weather brings more pollen into the air and results in more allergy symptoms. In the United States, pollen season typically runs from March until October, but it can begin as early as January in southern states.

If you are sensitive to pollen, here are some tips to help you cope:

Keep windows and doors closed as much as possible to prevent pollen from blowing into your home and car.
Avoid going outside between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m., when pollen counts are highest.
Don’t dry your clothing on an outside line, as pollen can be transferred to your clothes and into your home that way. Use a clothes dryer instead, or an indoor clothing rack.
If you’ve been outside, change your clothes in the garage before entering your home to prevent pollen transfer. Shower and wash your hair before going to bed so you don’t spend the night covered in allergens.ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-72759578834433080472009-06-10T07:51:00.000-04:002009-06-10T07:53:30.773-04:00Dunkin Donuts wins it!!!!Dunkin' Donuts wins out. Can you believe that all that creamy, sugary goodness adds up to a meager 240 calories and 7 grams of fat? How do they do it? Never mind that. Just remember to avoid Krispy Kreme's Frozen Latte Blend, which will fill you with 610 excessive calories, 22 grams of fat and 90% of your daily value of saturated fat (18 grams). If you want a frozen latte without all the sugar, opt for Dunkin' Donuts Iced latte (16 oz) for just 120 calories. Dunkin' Donuts website also advertises that at participating locations, you can order Reduced-Calorie versions of their Frozen Blends for just 99 calories (12 ounce drink without the whipped cream). You probably hear warnings about Starbucks' caloric catastrophes, but how do other coffee shops compare? Dunkin' Donuts Iced Caramel Swirl Latte is made of espresso, caramel syrup and milk. On top of that, this "indulgent" drink is doused with whipped cream and mocha drizzle. Sounds too good to be good for you, right? Then there's Krispy Kreme's Frozen Latte Blend. They blend espresso, milk (and surely some sugar) and top their icy coffee with whipped cream as well. One of these creamy treats contains a fraction of the calories and fat of the other. Who's the winner?
Knowing the answer I'm too excited...what do you think?
Make your choice and the answer will post tomorrow.ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-39812623169621250742009-06-08T06:54:00.000-04:002009-06-08T07:04:51.134-04:00TASTE MY JESUSAt the University of Chicago Divinity School each year they have what is called 'Baptist Day.' On this day each one is to bring a lunch to be eaten outdoors in a grassy picnic area. Every 'Baptist Day' the school would invite one of the greatest minds to lecture in the theological education center.
One year they invited Dr. Paul Tillich. Dr.Tillich spoke for two and one-half hours proving that the resurrection of Jesus was false. He quoted scholar after scholar and book after book. He concluded that since there was no such thing as the historical resurrection the religious tradition of the church was groundless, emotional mumbo-jumbo, because it was based on a relationship with a risen Jesus, who, in fact never rose from the dead in any literal sense. He then asked if there were any questions. After about 30 seconds, an old, dark skinned preacher with a head of short-cropped, woolly white hair stood up in the back of the auditorium. 'Docta Tillich, I got one question,' he said as all eyes turned toward him. He reached into his sack lunch and pulled out an apple and began eating it.
'Docta Tillich.. CRUNCH, MUNCH 'My question is a simple question,...
CRUNCH, MUNCH...'Now, I ain't never read them books you read..CRUNCH, MUNCH..
'and I can't recite the Scriptures in the original Greek...CRUNCH, MUNCH...
'I don't know nothin' about Niebuhr and Heidegger...CRUNCH, MUNCH. He finished
the apple. 'All I wanna know is: This apple I just ate, .... was it bitter or sweet?
Dr Tillich paused for a moment and answered in exemplary scholarly fashion: 'I
cannot possibly answer that question, for I haven't tasted your apple.' The
white-haired preacher dropped the core of his apple into his crumpled paper bag,
looked up at Dr. Tillich and said calmly, 'Neither have you tasted My Jesus.'
The 1,000 plus in attendance could not contain themselves. The auditorium
erupted with applause and cheers. Dr. Tillich thanked his audience and promptly
left the platform.
Have you tasted Jesus? Please pass this on Saints! Jesus has risen...and He's coming back one day.. Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him. If you have, rejoice in the hope of the resurrection that your faith in Him brings. While women fared slightly better—spending on average 20 more minutes on their feet at the office than men—researchers conclude that a sedentary job is a major health concern for both genders.

And it’s no secret that sedentary jobs (and lifestyles) have contributed dramatically to the accelerating obesity rate of the past 20 years. Put emphasis on the word ‘dramatically’—a study conducted by the University of Chicago in 2001 found that a worker in a sedentary career may end up with a Body Mass Index 3.3 units higher than someone in a highly active job. If you’re 5'5" this can mean an increase in weight from 140 pounds to 155 pounds!

Now that you’ve heard the bad news, let’s turn to the good news…

You CAN love your less-than-active job and be fit. Here’s how:

Be sure to eat. It’s easy to slog through a day of meetings, e-mails, and phone calls to discover at 4 p.m. that you haven’t eaten since breakfast. But, your body needs energy to get you through the day.
Compensate, compensate. Get physical to compensate for your sedentary workday.
Rework your network. Chances are, your friends and co-workers need help with their love handles just as much as you do. So, try some new activities that don’t revolve around food.
Lose the technology. Modern advances are great, but do you control them or do they control you? As much as possible, take advantage of opportunities throughout the day to get up and move!
One in five Americans is obese; three in five are either overweight or obese. But sitting at a desk doesn’t have to mean you’ll be just another statistic! Incorporating these simple strategies into your workday will bring you one step closer to being a healthier, more energetic you.ladyd210http://www.blogger.com/profile/01095344866686144162noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2417614582455739606.post-54293082306758009182009-05-26T09:09:00.001-04:002009-05-26T09:13:31.759-04:00Wendy's wins it!!!You could eat 10 nuggets from Wendy's and still eat fewer calories and fat grams than five super-sized chicken strips from McDonald's. Wendy's 10-piece (without sauce) contains a reasonable 440 calories, but is fairly high in fat (29 grams), due to the crispy, fried outside. McDonald's chicken strips are larger. When you eat just five, you're taking in 630 calories, 51% of your daily value of fat (33 grams), and 65% of your daily allotment of sodium.

You could eat 10 McNuggets for still fewer calories than the Chicken Selects (420 calories and 24 grams of fat). Whichever you choose, limit calories by using less dipping sauce. At McDonald's, most sauces (besides the 200-calorie-per-pack Creamy Ranch) contain between 50 and 70 calories each.
