Double your weekend sweetness....

When you buy a container of cake frosting from the store, whip it with your mixer for a few minutes. You can double it in size. You get to frost more cake/cupcakes with the same amount. You also eat less sugar and calories per serving. Now that's working the economy!!!

Yourself....

To: YOU

Date: TODAY

From: GOD

Subject: YOURSELF

Reference: LIFE

This is God. Today I will be handling All of your problems for you. I do Not need your help. So, have a nice day.

I love you.

P.S. And, remember...

If life happens to deliver a situation to you that you cannot handle,
do Not attempt to resolve it yourself! Kindly put it in the SFGTD
(something for God to do)
box. I will get to it in MY TIME. All
situations will be resolved, but in My time, not yours.

Once the matter is placed into the box, do not hold onto it by worrying
about it. Instead, focus on all the wonderful things that are present
in your life now.

Should you decide to send this to a friend; Thank you. You may have touched their life in ways you will never know!

Now, you have a nice day.

God

God has seen you struggling, God says it's over.

Did you get the answer???

Yes! Applebee's Tortilla Chicken Melt actually is low in fat compared with standard fare. Just by reading the description, you probably noticed all the "green flag" words like reduced fat, whole wheat, and fat-free. Part of their Weight Watchers menu selections, this option is a much better choice than its competition. Enjoy the crispy, cheesy taste of quesadillas for only 13 grams of fat and 480 calories. You'll also get an added boost of 6 grams of fiber, which is rare for most restaurant fare. Don Pablo's Lunch Size portion is still much worse in the fat and calorie department. Their Mesquite-Grilled Chicken Quesadilla contains 773 calories and an unhealthy 39 grams of fat (19 of which are saturated). Spend your calories wisely and take advantage of Applebee's Weight Watcher offerings, whether you count points or calories.

Does a low-fat quesadilla really exist?

Quesadillas are little more than crispy tortillas filled with lots of melted cheese. Can these Mexican specialties offer much nutrition? Applebee's Tortilla Chicken Melt shows promise. Inside a whole wheat tortilla you'll find roasted chicken, reduced fat cheese and fat-free Ranch dressing among a host of veggies including broccoli, corn and peppers. At Don Pablo's, you can order lunch-size portions until 4 p.m. Their Mesquite-Grilled Chicken Quesadilla is smaller than a regular portion and also includes lean chicken, melted cheese, and pico de gallo salsa. Could the healthy-sounding Applebee's Melt be lower in fat than a lunch portion at Don Pablo's? Take a guess!
Answer tomorrow!!! Stay tuned!

Did you know.....sunglasses

Sunglasses aren't just fashion accessories. Before you buy a new pair of shades, make sure they offer 100% protection against both types of ultraviolet radiation, UVA and UVB, which can cause skin aging and sunburns.

And the answer is.....

It's always important to make informed decisions regarding your food and nutrition. You may have seen these two options and thought it was a no-brainer, but the Balsamic Vinaigrette contains 100 fewer calories per serving. It tops your salad for 140 calories, 11 grams of fat, and just 1.5 grams of saturated fat. Plus, this vinaigrette is made with heart-healthy olive oil. While Au Bon Pain's Lite Honey Mustard Dressing may be "lighter" than standard honey mustard, it adds unnecessary calories and fat to your skinny salad: 240 calories, 15 grams of fat, and 2 grams of saturated fat. Take advantage of the nutrition information that is available in restaurants and online, and don't assume that the name or description alone will lead you in the "light" direction every time.

Which Au Bon Pain salad dressing is best for you?

http://www.aubonpain.com/

Au Bon Pain or "the place for good bread" is a popular bakery cafe chain in the U.S. and Asia. Unlike many restaurants that don't want you to know about their nutrition information, they also offer nutrition kiosks in their stores for adults and kids to make informed decisions about their foods. You choose the Large Garden Salad, which contains a blend of greens, fresh veggies, croutons and sprouts for only 110 calories and 2 grams of fat. Which of these two dressings--Au Bon Pain's Balsamic Vinaigrette or Lite Honey Mustard--will season your salad for fewer calories and fat grams?

Answer tomorrow....stay tuned!

A Wonderful Weekend

Some might say you did this all alone? Yes!
I took a journey to a part of NJ which I've never visited and totally enjoyed myself. I went to a wine tasting at Alba Vineyard. For the cost of $5.00 I enjoyed 7 wines, an array of foods from two different caterers and the company of complete strangers.
Some might ask why I didn't take anyone because I love to explore alone then bring friends to places I love. Did the same for my 41st birthday, I explored a pottery place and for my 42nd brought back friends. This will be a return spot so look out friends for a celebration next year....lol

We fall down, but we get up...

No one agrees that smoking pot is a good thing however "ye who are without sin, cast the first stone" We've all fallen short or should I say...I HAVE. So all who have never made a mistake, judge him. As for me, I'm thankful he found his mistake and has owned it so it can be corrected.
To me, that's the only way to make a mistake....comments?

Real Love

We spend time ensuring we teach our children many things but there's something we don't always make very important. Sleep.....

Claim: Getting more sleep will help you shed pounds.

Skip: It's true that lack of Zs can cause overeating and missed workouts, but if you already get adequate amounts of shut-eye, hitting the snooze button won't burn off that leftover pumpkin pie.

One of my favorite places

This picture was taken at one of my favorite places in the entire world. MY HOME TOWN, Staten Island. I was born on February 10, 1966 at 10:00am at St. Vincent's Medical Center at the base of this hill.
When you go to the top of the hill you can see the great NY skyline, though it's changed a bit it's still one of the greatest places on earth.
I bless God for today, for my family and friends who took time out to make me feel special.
Going to the vineyard this weekend and I'll bring back pictures, enjoy your day. You know winter is NOT over yet.....lol

It's my birthday tomorrow....

Yes, it's my birthday tomorrow though I may come through just to be thankful I'm alive as there was a time I wasn't certain I'd see old age but thanks to lifestyle changes I'm going to be here awhile.
I LOVE roses but I don't like red ones. Why???? Because they're ordinary to me. Now don't get it twisted, red roses mean passion but let's get real, so why is my child bringing me red roses? I'm not married so I appreciates roses of EVERY color but red. Enjoy the roses, I know I do and ALWAYS take the time to GIVE roses while people can smell them, don't wait until the coffin, honestly then, it's only for you! Enjoy!!!

Did you know???

As you get up this morning here's a few fun food facts to make your day brighter...enjoy!

To really make scrambled eggs or omelets rich add a couple of spoonfuls of sour cream, cream cheese, or heavy cream in and then beat them up.

Add garlic immediately to a recipe if you want a light taste of garlic and at the end of the recipe if your want a stronger taste of garlic..

Peppers with 3 bumps on the bottom are sweeter and better for eating.
Peppers with 4 bumps on the bottom are firmer and better for cooking.

Add a teaspoon of water when frying ground beef. It will help pull the grease away from the meat while cooking.

And the Answer is.....

Tim Horton's is a clear winner in this category. "Tim's Own" Chicken Salad sandwich contains 380 calories and 9 grams of fat. This makes a great choice, and you'll still have some extra calories to spend on a healthy side like their Hearty Vegetable Soup (only 70 calories). Panera may boast freshly baked bread, but this sandwich is a dieter's nightmare: 740 calories, 27 grams of fat, and nearly twice the sodium (1,540 grams) as Tim's. Remember that Panera will allow you to make almost any substitution--change the bread, sauce, toppings and more to save calories and fat. Ditch those oversized breads and go for their simple, lower-calorie Tomato Basil or Whole Grain breads, and ask for dressings on the side.

Who's report do you believe?

Monday the world drew together looking at a groundhog to see how many more weeks of winter would be our fate. PA saw his shadow, NY did not, CT did, VT did not so what do you think? Who's report will you believe?Brace yourself for more wintry weather. Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow Saturday, leading the groundhog to forecast six more weeks of winter.

Steelers win but you're out of work...

As the Steelers won the Super Bowl many cheered and enjoy but this morning may find themselves unemployed. Here are a few tips to keep you cheering and fighting during these tough economic times.

1. Breathe. Stay Calm.
The worst decisions are made under pressure, stress, or in a state of fear. Don't allow yourself to be rash or irrational; keep your wits about you and commit to making it through this in one piece. Get a sense for what this layoff really means to you and what the real repercussions will be.

2. Look at This As an Opportunity.
You know what they always say, "It's not what happens to you, but what you do about it." That might not be what you want to hear right now, but think about it: This sudden change could have a silver lining -- so commit yourself to finding it. Take some time for yourself, even just a few quiet hours alone and reflect on all the things you truly liked and disliked about your job.

3. Audit Your Online Identity.
Start paying close attention to your reputation management, to the platform that you've built for yourself online (if any) and to what new people will perceive about you when they google you. If you don't like what you see online, or want to take control of that first impression you're giving off, build a professional identity you can be proud of with a PROJO - your professional mojo.
